CAF Picks Ghana Trio In 2013 African Youth Championship Best XI

Three Black Satellites have been named in the 2013 African Youth Championship Best XI by CAF. Two Ghana players were also named in the nine substitutes by the tournament's Technical Study Group. Captain Lawrence Lartey has selected as one of the defenders alongside Ahmed Samir of Egypt, Mali's Boubacar Diarra and Egypt captain Ramy Rabia. The surprise inclusion is midfielder Derrick Mensah who featured in only two matches including starting the semi-final match against Mali. Striker Ebenezer Assifuah, the tournament's second joint top scorer with three goals, also made the cut. Goalkeeper Eric Antwi Ofori and striker Francis Narh were named among the substitutes. The Black Satellites were beaten 5-4 on penalties to Egypt at the Ahmed Zabana Stadium in Oran, Algeria.
