Harrison Afful: I Wanted To Play Kotoko In The Next Round

Esprance Sportive de Tunis and Black Stars defender Harrison Afful, has said after Esperance qualified to the next stage of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions league, that he was looking forward to encountering his former club Kumasi Asante Kotoko but his dream to meet his club did not come to reality. The Porcupine Warriors could only draw 1-1 with their Algerian debutants, JSM Bajaja before an excited home crowd at the Baba Yara Stadium. Mas-Ud Didi Dramani's side therefore exit the CAF Champions League by an away goal rule after drawing goalless in the first leg in Algeria. The Porcupine Warriors who cruised into the first round with an 8-0 aggregate thrashing of Sony Ela Nguema were expected to ride over their opponents but the story was the other way round. The Ghanaian left back expressed worry for not playing against his former club but wishes them well as he hopes the team will progress in their next attempt of the CAF Champions league. I wanted to meet my former club Asante Kotoko but it did not happen. I am very sad but that is the nature of the game. I encourage them (Kotoko) to keep playing hard and hope in the next year, they will progress to the next stages. This is not the end that is how football is like, they should keep exhibiting good football and in future they will get there. the management and supporters should come together and work as one and everything will be in place, he said in an interview with PEACE POWER SPORTS on Peace FM.
