Gyan Returns To Al Ain Bench For Away Game At Al Ittihad Kalba

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan will start from the bench in Al Ains UAE Pro League game at Al Ittihad Kalba on Sunday. The 27-year-old has missed three key games for the Boss since returning from international duty haven picked up a thigh strain. Gyan did not make the squad in the midweeks Asian Champions League defeat to Al Rayyan despite traveling with the side to Qatar. The Ghana striker has been involved in full scale training all-week-long with his Al Ain teammates but is deemed not match fit to start the game at the Ittihad Kalba Club Stadium. The ex Sunderland player who has leads the goal scorers chart in the UAE top flight with 24 goals in 17 games is however expected to play a part in the away game. Gyan is just one-goal ahead of Brazilian Grafite in the race for the Golden Shoe award despite missing close to six weeks due to the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and a further three weeks to injury.
