Kotoko rally to overcome Dwarfs

Defender, Kwabena Adusei catapulted Asante Kotoko to a dramatic end in their 2-1 victory over Dwarfs in their Glo-Premier League duel with a late winner in the game played at Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi. Adusei unleashed a powerful 25-metre thunderbolt to beat Dwarfs goalkeeper, Patrick Antwi, three from time to ensure victory for the Porcupine Warriors, whose vociferous supporters were sitting on thorns. An anxious Kotoko Coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, who had in recent time come under intense pressure, went into wild jubilation. Dwarfs was on the verge of salvaging a point but Adusei defied the odds, joined the Kotoko attack to deliver that late killer from a Michael Helegbe free-kick. Dwarfs John Arthur, nearly shot the visitors ahead in the 11th minute but his thunderbolt saved by goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye marked the only action in the game till that point. Four minutes later, the visitors initiated an attack on the right flank as Christopher Bonney let go a well-taken cross that Bright Luqman pounced on to lob over advancing Soulama only to miss narrowly. Soon, Luqman took the lead for Dwarfs with a powerful free-kick in 19 minutes. But Kotoko was to restore parity through Yussif Aziz 16 minutes on; connecting home a Helegbe corner-kick. Dwarfs were reduced to 10 men with 15 minutes to end proceedings when defender, Kingsley Nteng, was red-carded for a second yellow. The visitors still managed to hold their own against the Porcupine Warriors, but only for a while. As the game wore on, Kotoko threw more men forward with the defenders joining attack, resulting in the later winner.
