Election Petition: Ignore Asiedu Nketia And Sir John

Member of Parliament for Akwapim South, Osei Bonsu Amoah has advised journalists to stop interviewing the two General Secretaries, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as Gen Mosquito (NDC) and Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John (NPP). According to him, anytime the two General Secretaries are interviewed, they distort the fact and play politics with everything that goes on at the Supreme Court. Sir John and Gen Mosquito have been speaking to the media anytime the Supreme Court ends proceedings on hearing of the Substantive case which started on Tuesday. Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, OB Amoah said the media should rather focus on lawyers of the petitioners and respondents since they can give a factual representation of what is happening. The Former Deputy Education and Sports Minister said: Its as if the media always waits for Asiedu Nketiah especially to talk to him; immediately he finishes Sir John follows; at the end of the day, if you critically analyze what the two people have said, you will realise that it is only politics and not facts. The worst of them all is Asiedu Nketiah; he gives a different representation of what is happening at the Supreme Court. He added that the proceedings at the Supreme Court is a serious case which must not be downplayed; otherwise, at the end of the day the import of the case will be lost. The media should stop interviewing these two people or any politician whose focus is to engage in propaganda. After interviewing the lawyers, it should end there. If one follows what the two people(Sir John and Gen Mosquito) have been saying, the democracy we have all enjoyed in this country can be threatened because both claims to be winning the case; but that is not the true picture of what is happening at the Supreme Court he pointed out.
