Danny Welbeck, the Manchester United striker who rejected the chance to play for Ghana, has been rated as the worst attacker in the English Premier League. Welbeck, who was born to Ghanaian parents in England, flatly turned down the approach to play for the Black Stars after being convinced by Sir Alex Ferguson to opt for England. Now Sir Alex Ferguson has the Premier League�s worst striker in terms of minutes per goal in his ranks. Welbeck, whose traditional Ghanaian name is Nii Tackie, has scored just once in the league all season. The goal was a header for United�s fourth goal in October�s 4-2 win over Stoke � in 1204 minutes of football, the equivalent of 13 games. The truth is that Welbeck is something of a conundrum. His energy is not in question. Nor is his passion to play.
