The Mayor of Accra Alfred Oko Vanderpuye has said that his outfit will arrest all contractors and individuals who are caught engaging in illegal electricity connection at market centres in the capital. The Mayors' call comes in the wake of two recent fire outbreaks at the Kantamanto market and the Sodom and Gomorra slum just two days apart. Alfred Vanderpuiye has also charged stakeholders and traders at markets in the capital to liaise with the Assembly to ensure suspects of electricity theft are caught. �The traders in the market need to work with us, to the extent that they need to help expose the contractors who go to the market and collect money and do the illegal connections�. Vanderpuiye was speaking at a news conference organized by the regional coordinating council in collaboration with the Metropolitan Assembly.
