Determination Made The Difference - Mumuni

Ghanas Para-cyclist, Alem Mumuni has credited hard work for his recent bronze feat at the World Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Parc Jean-Drapeau, Montreal race in Canada. Mumuni grabbed bronze after a torrid journey to the event that saw him travel 32 hours from South Carolina in United States to Montreal in Canada and a further 34 hours back to USA by bus due to lack of funds. He told GNA Sports I was bent on participating in the competition, even though I had no funds to fly to Canada from USA. I also had several challenges with immigration officials at the boarder but these did not deter me from going ahead to realize my dreams of making an impact at the competition. Aside this, we had on three occasions disappointed the Canadians, after failing to participate in previous events and I saw this as an opportunity for us to redeem our image. He won the medal in the C2 category and placed 3rd in the combined C1, C2 and C3 category at competition, which saw over 4,000 athletes across the globe participating. He also placed third in the C2 category and 8th in the combined C1, C2, and C3, C4 and C5 category.
