Tsatsu Tsikata Is Being Arrogant Towards The Supreme Court Judges

The cross examination of Tsatsu Tsikata, according to a member of the communication team for the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Charles Owusu, is a ploy to delay the court proceedings since it is the repetition of what Tony Lithur had already gone through with the chief witness. He stated that Tsatsu Tsikata is being arrogant towards the Supreme Court judges and Ghanaians as a whole with his cross examination; adding that the judges are not complaining because they do not want people to perceive them to be seen as supporting the petitioners. Speaking on Okay FM, he said that Ghanaians have come to know that Tsatsu Tsikata is desperate as his cross examination is going the way he wants it to be; stressing that he started his arrogance by saying that the bar should set a high standard on the case and with this statement the judges were not pleased with his utterances. The PPP communicator added that out of desperation Tsatsu Tsikata diverted his anger on Philip Addison, saying that the petitioners lawyer should stop his frivolous interjection of his cross examination. According to him cross examination of a witness is not about castigations and threats and to him, Tsatsu Tsikata is suffering from his inability to scoop what he wants from Dr. Bawumia, hence he has resorted to this attitude to abuse everybody in court. He alleged that Tsatsu Tsikata is exhibiting anger towards the Justices because he was sent to prison by similar judges; attributing that the case which sent him to prison is different from the election petition which are before the nine Justices of the Supreme Court. According to Charles Owusu, Ghanaians want to see the outcome of the petition which has been sent to the court and that this is not the time or place for Tsatsu to avert his anger to the judges and the witness as he seems to be taken Ghanaians for granted with his delay tactics. He urged that the judges should enforce Tsatsu Tsikata to go by the evidence before him and stop the insults and the arrogance he is portraying in the Supreme Court; stating that he is not above the court and neither his party nor the President owes the Supreme Court. However, he advised the petitioners counsel, Philip Addison to exercise patience with Tsatsu Tsikata, insisting that the legal brain of Tsatsu which has been hyped in the country is not working for him in his cross examination. He added that what is left of Tsatsu Tsikata is insults and that he has nothing to do again since he has seen that the evidence on the face of the pink sheets are clear; expressing contentment when the judges hinted on Tsatsu to go by the rules of the proceedings. He recounted that with the trend of the cross-examination in the Supreme Court Mr. Tsikata wants to set his own rules and does not want to follow the court procedure; adding that unfortunately this rules he wants set will not happen for him.
