Isaac Vorsah Seriously Injured; Out For 6 Months

Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah has proved serious than initially feared as tests have shown that he suffered two injuries and will be out of SIX MONTHS, doctors have revealed. The Austria based centre-back will be out of action until October and he will miss three key World Cup qualifiers for the Black Stars. It was thought the Red Bull Salzburg defender suffered a suspected cruciate ligament injury when he was substituted during Tuesday Austrian FA Cup match. But MRI scans conducted on the Ghana international have also shown that he pulled a collateral ligament ruling him out of action for six months. An MRI scan has unfortunately shown that the FC Red Bull Salzburg central defender suffered a ruptured right cruciate ligament in the Samsung Cup match as well as pulling a collateral ligament, Red Bull Salzburg said in a statement. This means he will not be available for the Black Stars when they play three crucial World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho next month as well as the crucial match against Zambia in September. The 24-year-old, who plays for Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg, was taken off during the semi-final of their Austrian Cup match against third division club Traun. If he fails to make a speedy recovery, he will also miss the crucial final qualifier against Zambia which is likely to be played in Kumasi in September. Vorsah has been pivotal for the Black Stars as his height and timely tackles have thwarted several opponents of Ghana particularly in away matches.
