NPP: Some Observer Groups Noticed Irregularities at Some Polling Stations; We Have The Evidence

Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea, has said despite loads of evidences presented to the Supreme Court to challenge the outcome of the 2012 election the NPP still have in possession of some evidences which they are yet to be presented to the court. According to him, some observer groups who were in the country as bystanders during the 2012 election chanced upon some irregularities whereby some agents have been handed the pink sheet to sign even before the voting commenced. One evident which we (the NPP) are yet to present to the court is that, some observer groups which we have the record told us that, agents at some polling stations which they visited have already signed the pink sheets which have not been filled by EC officials even before voting commenced. We are ready to submit all these and other evidences to the court. Ghanaians and the NPP supporters should just be calm, the battle has just begun. If one will recall, Mr. Tsikata and Dr. Bawumia both agreed on the same signature and hand writings on the same pink sheet. We (NPP) will explain all these in court and the EC will have questions to answer, Nana Akomea told Asempa FM. Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata has for the past eight days subjected Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to strict cross examination and it does not seem his cross examination may end any time soon though Nana Ato Dadzie, a legal counsel of the NDC has hinted that Tsatsu is likely to end his cross examination soon. However, Nana Akomea said throughout the cross examination it has been established that there were indeed irregularities but it has been described as errors. Nana Akomea says he cannot see how the respondents (the NDC and EC) in the ongoing presidential election petition will justify the irregularities the petitioners (NPP) claim flawed the 2012 election. To him, any attempt by the NDC and EC to justify the irregularities of the 2012 election will be baseless.
