You Cant Ban Us Kotoko Tells Ghana FA

Ghana league defending champions Asante Kotoko are challenging the Ghana FA executive committees decision to ban them from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors have been banned temporarily from their home grounds following unruly fan behaviour during their league fixture against Medeama. The Kumasi giants have questioned the power of the executive committee to issue such fiat and have served notice they are usurping the powers of the Disciplinary Committee of the FA. There are a whole lot of lapses in the release that came from the FA, Kotoko spokesperson Dr Ernest Opoku told Accra-based Joy FM. "The decision should have come from the disciplinary committee or a special committee, unless of course the Executive Committee which is a statutory body of the FA is the special committee. "And even in doing so, before you can suspend or ban a club, you will have to do a hearing first. The Executive Committee can close down the Baba Yara Stadium but they can't ban Kotoko, that is what the law states." As a result of them ban Kotokos next game against Aduana will be honoured at Sunyani.
