Tsatsu Must Apologise To The Supreme Court

A Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest Owusu Bempah has asked Counsel for the third respondent in the election petition case, Mr Tsatsu Tsikata to apologise for accusing the court registry of criminality. Mr Tsikata described as "a criminality" the discovery of additional boxes of pink sheets during the proposed auditing instructed by the Supreme Court. According to him, an initial number of 24 boxes were presented to the auditing firm; KPMG, but after careful scrutiny, the number had spiked up to 31; adding we cannot discount criminality from the process of achieving justice". But Owusu Bempah is of the view that Mr Tsikata has spited the judicial service especially the judges with the use of the word criminality. According to him, counsel for the third respondent is fond of showing disrespect to the judges and if not stopped will be detrimental to the judicial system in the country. He should come and apologise to the judges and the country as a whole because what he said was not right. It is absolutely beyond the bounds of reasoning for him to accuse the court registry of criminality. It is a sad day for our democracy and the judiciary in this country he mentioned. He said the Supreme Court should have reprimanded him immediately he made that statement because the proceedings is not only watched nationwide, but internationally as well. We believe if that is how he is going to behave then it is a shame because he is undermining the law and authority of the Supreme Court. He is indirectly spiting the judges; he is indirectly telling the judges that they are criminals and it is an indictment on the integrity of the judiciary in this country and it needs to be strongly condemned he told Peace FM news.
