Soul II Soul Back On June 7@ +233

All is set for the June edition of Soul to Soul, the event series that takes place at the capitals premier Jazz Bar and Grill, plus 233, on the first Friday of every month. June 7th will as usual feature a top rated band and Djs with guest artistes gracing the stage with back to back old school tracks. Old school music never felt better than it did at the last edition of Soul to Soul, which saw a double dose of star performances firstly from the ever so hot and raunchy Raquel and sensational musician Sidney now Barima as special guest Artistes. Ofie Kudjoe, the perennial class act of the event series was on hand performing alongside Jones, the lead vocalist from the Bessa Simons band. After featuring Daasebre Gyamenah in a dazzling April edition, patrons were anxious for another bite of nostalgia and were not disappointed in the least. Special guest Raquel led the way with track after track of Old school hits, performed as only she can, including a jaw dropping performance of Lady Marmalades Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi Ce Soir. The barefooted songstress braved stitches on her foot caused by an accident with a bottle of perfume to keep her date with adoring fans and left all in awe with her command of her space and range of her captivating voice. Soul to Soul hit a new twist with an unexpected second guest performance, a May surprise that caught all off guard. Exploding onto the stage on a seamless cue with Ofie and Raquel still on stage, Barimah Sydney with two energetic female dancers got the house into a frenzy with an invigorating performance of Scent Nu. An electric participating crowd gleefully responded to the cues and choruses that made the song the most popular hiplife track in its time. With his well matured stagecraft and a seasoned band on hand, the house was kept thoroughly exhilarated right through subsequent performances of his all time hits, Obia nyԑ Obia and Our Money. The June edition promises to be even more exciting as it will see the return this time of a more mobile Raquel against the incredible ambience created by organisers with laser, smoke and lighting effects, setting the tone for a party mood. Who performs alongside? Your guess is as good as mine. Organisers keep us guessing as a feature of the monthly event but if previous events are anything to go by, expect a top drawer act to raise the bar as only Soul to Soul can. Other special attractions include a complimentary champagne cocktail and the now famous complimentary kenkey, fish and pork served in the early hours. A patron from the Diaspora couldnt help but confess that the after midnight delicacy was her favourite part of the show because the idea behind it was simply genius, replenish after burning energy, and what better way to do it than with Ga Kenkey, typical symbol of Accra cuisine and hospitality. With the next Soul to Soul being in our season of high precipitation, Karl Aubyn Events and + 233 are working on weather protection to battle any adverse conditions. Mariam Adams, PR for the events company said Our cherished patrons should get their dancing shoes ready, expect a breathtaking night and let us do the hard work of bring quality entertainment to them. All they have to do is be present at +233 Jazz Bar and Grill come June 7th and be prepared to have the time of their lives. Soul to Soul comes off on the first Friday of every month, organised by Karl Aubyn Events and +233 Jazz Bar and Grill and partnered by Citi FM.
