Revealed: RTU Coach Was Brought In To Take Kwesi Appiah's Job

Real Tamale United coach Robert Carlos Paul was assured he would eventually land the Ghana coach post before he decided to take over RTU, Ghana Sports can reveal. Ghana Sports sources can confirm the Spanish-born Ukrainian was brought in by certain members within the Ghana Football Association in collaboration with an agency who were hoping Kwesi Appiah would be sacked. Kwesi Appiah's future as Ghana coach was unclear after Ghana's abysmal performance at the 2013 AFCON and various agencies were put on the alert as they prepare various coaches. However, the GFA kept faith in Appiah and confirmed him in a permanent role. Carlos was brought in to handle RTU for the time being while he hopes Kwesi Appiah would falter in the World Cup qualifiers and get kicked out. But Appiah's commanding performance with the Black Stars has dashed every last hope he had of coaching Ghana for the time being. The agency that brought him have promised to find him a club on the Ghana top-flight next season as RTU is relegated from the top-flight.
