Orlando Pirates Closing In On Fatau Dauda

South African side Orlando Pirates are likely to sign Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda. Pirates have reportedly made a formal offer to Daudas club AshantiGold, and it is believed that the club CEO Kudjo Fianoo is willing to let Dauda sign with the Buccaneers after five seasons at the Ghana Premier League club. The 28-year-old Dauda has been a regular starter for the Black Stars, and he was part of the Ghanaian squad that competed in the 2013 Afcon in South Africa. It has also been reported that Fianoo will begin contract negotiations with the Parktwon-based outfit, and also allow Fatau to discuss personal terms after Ghanas upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifier against Lesotho. The deal to sign Dauda is reportedly worth $500,000 which is approximately R5 million. The news will come as a relief to the Pirates supporters, after it was earlier reported that their target and SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams is not for sale. Meanwhile, Pirates are also believed to be after AshantiGold striker Yakubu Mohammed, but the negotiations for a possible transfer will only begin at the end of the Ghana Premier League season.
