Captain Planet's Wife-To-Be Gets Special Award

Uche Ofodile, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Vodafone Ghana, and fiancee of Captain Planet, member of the hiplife trio 4�4, was singled out for a special recognition at the recent Mobile World Awards in Accra. Winning the �Outstanding Contribution to Marketing� award came as no surprise, considering the fact that Uche has transformed the Vodafone brand into a relevant and contemporary brand and helped to double revenue in just two years. Uche�s unique combination of innovation, value and empowerment has led to several �firsts� in the Ghanaian market including the introduction of Ghana�s lowest call-rate across networks. The creation of value bundles such as �Vodafone 1 Ghana� and �Supreme Value� are all innovations which her competitors are still trying to copy. Also, she can be credited with changing the face of music in Ghana through the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Vodafone Live, ICONS and 020 Live and also championing the creation of HealthLine. Uche�s passion and determination to make Vodafone the most preferred mobile brand has seen Vodafone picking up several awards including CIMG Telecommunications Company of the Year. Vodafone also made history by winning six awards at the recent Mobile Telecoms Awards. It won the Best Telecoms Brand for a record three times in a row, Best Internet Service Provider and Most Innovative Telecoms Company of the Year. Vodafone television programme, HealthLine was also declared Best Corporate Social Responsibility programme of the Year whilst former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Kyle Whitehill was also recognized for his outstanding contributions to telecommunications sector.
