Kick NDC National Chairman Out - Volta NDC Youth

Regardless of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) battle in the Supreme Court over the 2012 presidential election results, the Volta Regional NDC Youth for Action (VRNYA) has embarked on a vigorous campaign against the national Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei. The group is busily campaigning for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) boss, Mr. Kofi Portuphy, to replace Dr. Kwabena Agyei. According to the Volta Regional NDC Youth for Action, Dr. Kwabena Agyei has outlived his usefulness in office and should be replaced at the next NDC national delegates congress. The groups Spokesperson, Alhaji Bello Misbaw, at a news conference on Tuesday in Accra, was optimistic that with Mr. Kofi Portuphy as the next NDC national Chairman, the party will surely retain power in 2016. The youth have realized that this time around the NDC will need more forceful elements who can reorganize the party and build into a more formidable party. He emphatically stated: This is why the Volta Regional NDC Youth for Action has appreciated and would give our support to Hon. Kofi Portuphy on his decision to join the race and contest the national Chairmanship position. Nonetheless, the group showed appreciation to Dr. Kwabena Adjei for his contributions to the party and asked him to honourably step aside and join the NDC patrons club. Alhaji Bello thus appealed to all party members to endorse Mr. Portuphys candidature and canvass enough support for the NADMO boss during the next NDC national delegates congress. We want to, therefore, appeal to all party members, activists, supporters and sympathizers to rally behind exuberant personalities who will be contesting in the upcoming national executive election.
