More Jail Time Awaits Ken Kuranchie If... - Atubiga Cautions

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, Stephen Atubiga, has warned the Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, Ken Kuranchie to be wary of his utterances following his release as he risks being handed a stiffer punishment by the courts. I plead with him to put his family first because if he is called again, I dont think the sentence will be ten days. It will be worse because the judges will not sit down and allow an outsider, especially a (non) lawyer, to come in and muscle them because they have a reputation to protect, he noted. Mr. Kuranchie was sentenced to a ten-day jail term when he critiqued the Supreme Court's reprimand of Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, Sammy Awuku in which he questioned why the court hearing the Presidential Election Petition heard Sammy Awuku's comments but didn't hear other comments made by others. In an exclusive interview with Citi FM, Mr. Atubiga, who was also jailed for three days by the Supreme Court for criminal contempt, noted that Ken Kuranchie should desist from listening to the persons who were encouraging him to speak because, he (Kuranchie) will be the only person sleeping in those grey walls and the only one leaving his family. I believe that 80% of what he has put out there risks him being recalled and I dont think that they will even open a case for him so that a lawyer will come and defend him with the way he is going, if he doesnt stop, I can see him going down if he is not careful with his words." He called on Ken Kuranchies wife, Madam Lucy Kuranchie, to rein in her husband. She has to spend quality time with her husband and make him understand that tough talk took him there you cant fight the lawthere is no law that can break through the decision of the Supreme Court. Their decision is final and when you decide to fight them, you may get yourself twisted up so bad.
