Brazil 2014 Is High Priority For GFA - Nyantakyi

Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has given an assurance that the FA has put in measures to ensure that Ghana does not miss the 2014 FIFA World Cup boat, saying that they were working closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other stakeholders for the Brazil 2014 dream to be realised. Guiding the Black Stars to three consecutive World Cup appearances, he contends, is a high priority which will be the biggest achievement the GFA would have recorded, Mr Nyantakyi told the Daily Graphic in an interview. According to the legal practitioner and former banker, key among the preparation for Ghanas group qualifier with Zambia in September, are a friendly match against Japan on August 14 and a scouting mission in Europe by Black stars coach Kwasi Appiah to ascertain the level of fitness and preparedness by his players for the crucial match against Zambia at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. Mr Nyantakyi conceded that the 2014 World Cup quantification was entirely different and more difficult than previous editions because after topping ones group, a team would be engaged in a play-off and that can be a life and death affair for the teams. We are experienced in this business and we are very hopeful that with the plans that we have put in place, we will be able to overcome all the challenges and secure a qualification to Brazil 2014, he said. Even though he lauded the government for supporting the FAs activities by providing the required budget needed to ensure we are on top, he was quick to add that there was the need for more sponsors to come on board to enable the FA to meet its target.
