The German-born youngster of Ghanaian and Congolese descent Reinhold Yabo has signed for the Bundesliga II side Karlsruher. Reinhold Yabo, the nephew of former Black Stars skipper Tony Baffoe, has signed for Karlsruher after his contract with FC Koln expired. The 21-year-old was on the radar of several clubs including Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Hoffenheim and Augsburg, but chose to sign for the Bundesliga II side for four years. Yabo captained the Germany national Under-17 side which won the Uefa U-17 World Cup and also captained them at the world stage in Nigeria where he was one of the stars of the tournament. The talented midfield enforcer started his career with the Koln youth team where he made 45 appearances scoring 11 goals before being promoted to the senior side in 2011, but made only five appearances before being sent on loan to Allemania Aachen last season. He made 17 appearances for Aachen last season and his output impressed Karlsruher coach Markus Kaukzinski. An exceptional talent who has been tagged as the new Mathias Sammer, Yabo has featured for all the German youth national teams and currently plays for the U-21 side. He played his first major game for Karlsruher over the weekend in their pre-season match with Sandhusen. Yabo who was born to a Ghanaian father and a Congolese mother is still eligible to play for both countries at senior level as he is yet to be capped by the Die Manschaaft.
