Stars from the football and showbiz circles last Saturday joined former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah and his family, as they observed the final rites of the death of the player�s father at his East Legon residence in Accra.
And by the rites, the family, particularly the widow Madam Comfort Afua Aidoo, Appiah�s mother replaced the ritual black apparel which she had worn since the husband�s demise with a white one.
John Mensah, also former Black Stars captain, Augustine Arhinful, Sammy Kuffour, Godwin Attram, Laryea Kingston, Rayim Ayew, Okyeame Kofi and Kwame and Prince David Osei among others joined the Appiahs in the celebration.
Earlier, the Appiah family congregated at the church to worship and gave thanks to God for seeing them through their moment of bereavement.
Appiah expressed thanks to all who have been there for the family from the day his father, Bartholomew Nii Sackey Appiah, 72, passed on after a short illness till date.
�I want to, on my own behalf and on behalf of the family, thank all who have supported us from the day we lost our father till this day. It�s been a year since we lost our dad and I think as custom demands, we gather as a family to thank God for His mercies,� Appiah said in a chat.
