Mensa Otabil Was Not Expressing His View; It Was A Revelation From God

The statement made by the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (I.C.G.C), Pastor Mensah Otabil that he senses evil befalling the nation was not his personal view, but rather, a revelation he received from God, according to an NPP Communicator. According to Richard Asante Yeboah, the hurling of abusive words to the man of God must stop because he said what God had revealed to him; in that the heaviness he felt in him is a demonstration that evil can befall Ghana if Christians do not pray to redeem the country. Establishing further, he said on Okay FM that Dr. Mensa Otabil did not make this a public statement but as a Christian leader, he admonished his members to pray for Ghana to avert any danger which might befall the country. He again averred that the information was made public by the media because they felt it was of national interest; adding that this is not new to Ghanaians as many men of God had made similar admonitions about what might happen if prayers are not offered for the country and so it is incumbent on Ghanaians to pray as the man of God instructed his members to do for Ghana. He further indicated that President Mahama when the Muslim caucus in Parliament recently called on him, urged them to remember Ghana in their fasting so that the nation will remain peaceful after the Supreme Courts ruling. The NPP communicator therefore called on all the political divides to join in the prayers for Ghana as one people since such revelation with the help from the media has come to their notice; cautioning that this revelation should not be treated with impunity because it was not made on a public platform but in the confines of his church. He reiterated that the prayers should be said to calm all tempers which may arise after the verdict of the Supreme Court in order to maintain the peaceful atmosphere the country needs to develop.
