I Need Security Protection, Mr. President

Mr President, in the recent past, I have been bombarded with threats through a number of ways. The first and obvious means has been to send me threats on my mobile phone either through text messages or direct phone calls. The second means has to do with the use of spiritualism through juju or voodoo. I am of the suspicion that my political opponents are of the aim that these threats will eventually scare me so that I would desist from coming out to defend my conviction on matters that border on democracy. I want to send this message to such group or individuals to advise themselves and their pay masters to urgently stop that practice since I am too strong to be intimidated through this good for nothing schemes. As an astute politician with international repute, who has been the founder of Ghanas democracy through my erstwhile Ghana Democratic Movement, I am fully used to this practice of threats. In the Rawlings regime where free speech was highly intolerant and conceived as a crime, I defied all odds and I fought for Ghanas democracy which has become a blossom candle in the African continent. And when I saw the text messages and the juju threats, it quickly reminded me of the past experience. They have not changed their modus operandi. But as a mere mortal living being it would be unwise for me to remain quiet and throw caution to the wind. There is the need for me to make things known to the public so that such individuals would be aware that I am ahead of them. Most readers of the pro-opposition newspapers in the country would attest to the fact that most of my articles favour the opposition NPP, and I cannot do away with conspiracy of my political opponents with regards to threats of this nature. Again, let me remind readers that, I am still dealing with these same people who had wished my death so many years ago. Let me warn them that, things of this nature would not work for them as it failed them in the past. Democracy is synonymous with free speech and ones I have a mouth no one should expect me to be quiet when indeed things are not going on well with majority of Ghanaians. Whether we would accept it or not, democracy has come to stay in Ghana and no one has monopoly over free speech. I would therefore advise every individual from either sides of our political divide to respect opinions of our political opponents and call a halt to this weird practice of resorting to the use of voodoo or threats of text messages to put fear in our opponents. In the past weeks, some suspected spies drive to my compound to steal looks at my residence. They would be peeping at my residence, and would drive away at their won will. In one of their patrols, my private security was able to detect them and they quickly sped off when the security had tried to confront them. This is the kind of fear my detractors want to subject me to, but it fail miserably. My contributions to Ghanas rule of law over the years have caused me a lot in life. I have spent millions of pound sterling through organization of demonstrations in the international community levels, paying for holding of meetings to discuss Ghanas democracy with the developed world and offering assistance to politicians of different political affiliations. Ironically, what I have been paid back is highly inexpressible. Those who advised me to give up on my desire to reposition Ghana on her democratic pedestal including family members maybe were right since Ghana is indeed not a worthy nation to die for. I habour no regrets for my neglect, but as a human being sometimes I am of the opinion that, the state has not treated me well at all. But in the face of all this disregard comes threat of death from unscrupulous faceless individuals who pretend as democrats but down within them they are off springs of traitors and autocrats. If this is the unfortunate way, my opponents wish for me, and then they should think again since the same God who helped me overcome them in the past would again direct me to become victor. I am ever ready match my political enemies shadow to shadow either through physical or spiritually. I want to appeal to the President of the Republic Mr John Dramani Mahama to assure me of total security. Let me inform you Mr President that, due to the fact that some politicians see me as a threat, I have always been at the receiving end of threats. History would advise you that, Scotland Yard in the United Kingdom provided me with a 24 hour security when I was in Britain after there were attempts to assassinate me. I was again giving victim support by the Metropolitan Police. When I finally came down to Ghana for stay, the former President Kufour also provided me with security during the era of Mr Francis Opoku as National Security Coordinator and Mr Owusu Fordjour as BNI Director. I think nothing stops you from consulting your security outfits to ask of my security background. I need to be assured of my security as soon as possible. If Mr President I am not going to be assured of my security, I would be compelled to inform the International Community of my insecurity in Ghana. I do not think Mr President you want this development to come to bare since it would give your administration a very bad light. I would be waiting for your assurance Mr President. Signed:
