Gideon Baah To Stay At Honka FC

An agreement has been reached between FC Honka, Finland and Asante Kotoko, Ghana for the permanent transfer of Gideon Baah to FC Honka. Baah was originally signed by Honka on a season long loan, but according to staff and management of the Club, he has made such a significant improvement leading to the decision to get his permanent signature. Baah has excelled since joining the Veikkausliiga in March this year. He has been selected in 'Team of the Month' for 3 consecutive months and was named in the top 5 players of the Veikkausliiga after the first round. He has also been awarded 'Man of the Match' on a number of occasions. Baah is getting used to life in Finland and has settled in fairly well. He is enjoying getting first team football and recently played in the Europe League 2nd qualifying round against Polands Lech Poznan. Despite their 3-1 loss, Baah relished the opportunity to play in the competition and called it the biggest achievement in his career to date. When asked about the decision to stay at Honka, Baah said, "I am very happy to have signed a 2 year contract with FC Honka because I have been working really hard for it. I have been here for about 4 months now and have had a regular spot in the team. I feel more relaxed since I signed and can concentrate on my game. When your career is in limbo it can be quite unsettling" "I hope my fans in Ghana understand my decision and will pray for me and support me as I strive to move forward" His agent admitted to www.gideonbaah.com that it had not been an easy journey, but said that the twists and turns made it all the more fulfilling. "The president of Honka expressed their interest in a permanent move, I spoke with Kotoko and negotiations commenced. "An agreement was reached after a few weeks of discussions and the rest, they say, is history" she said. "It's all been very exciting. Gideon is now an FC Honka player and has been getting his feet well under the table. He has even managed to find a Ghanaian market in Helsinki where he stocks up on local Ghanaian food." She laughed. FC Honka is currently top of the Finnish League table and is in a very strong position to win the league this season if the players keep putting in the performances they have been so far.
