The Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan has described President John Dramani Mahama�s administration as full of �clueless experimenters of state craft�. According to him, the Mahama led administration �has no clue in managing the affairs of this country; they are just experimenting with everything; clueless experimenters of state craft.� Kwamena Duncan was speaking to the issue of the stakeholders forum held on Tuesday at Ho, Volta Region to discuss the sustainability of the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP). At the forum, President Mahama indicated that the pay policy in spite of its challenges will not be cancelled. He said it will revamp the policy to remove the inequities in the salaries of public service workers and ensure �equal pay for equal work�. The Finance Minister is however quoted to have said on the same platform that the �pay policy is not sustainable on the trajectory we are currently observing. The compensation bill has more than tripled in absolute terms between 2009 and 2012, rising from GH�2.9 billion to GH�9.0 billion, including salary arrears in 2012.� Speaking on Peace FM�s Kokrokoo, Kwamena Duncan suggested that because the Mahama led administration �is just experimenting with matters of the state�, they keep contradicting themselves. �Clueless experimenters of state craft; with just one policy, the President claims �we have come too far to scrape it� while the Finance Minister says �going forward it is not sustainable� so what was the objective of the event at Ho?� he questioned. Kwamena Duncan said the way issues were discussed at the forum, the impression created was that �the SSPP is the cause of our economic woes�. �The SSPP is so insignificant that it cannot cause a decline in the economy. What happened yesterday at Ho was just a cover up; it was something that amounted to nothing�just to cover up their backs� he indicated.
