It was the turn of the three silky-voiced Ghanaian singers who go by the name of �Symphony� to sway the hearts of the X Factor judges in their favour on the second night of evictions at the Glo X Factor singing realty show. Not even the deafening cheers from the packed Lagos auditorium for rival group Smoothboiz could overshadow the splendid performance of the Ghanaian trio. SmoothBoiz, an equally talented Nigerian singing quartet narrowly used the show�s exit gates at the very first evictions and therefore needed a lot more than just prayers to stay in the show. An unnerving discharge of suspense and anxiety swept through the auditorium as presenter Toolz stepped forward to announce the night�s casualty from the score sheet tabulated by Forbes, the renowned international auditors. �Ladies and Gentlemen! The two acts with the least votes and who will be singing for survival are: in no particular order... Symphony and ... SmoothBoiz�, Toolz announced. �No, not again,� Smoothboiz muttered under their breadth. Victor, the leader of the group, said, �Really, I am surprised. We were in the bottom two last week, being there again this time is so surprising.� The audience was genuinely exhilarated as Judge Onyeka�s vote went to SmoothBoiz exclaiming that �It is very difficult for me, but I have to do it. The group I will like to see in the next gala show is � SmoothBoiz. The mood was still electrifying, in spite of some solitary chanting for Ghana�s Symphony and it appeared as though the SmoothBoize were on the verge of a proverbial �second time lucky� appearance. Indeed, Judge Onyeka�s vote, capped by the rousing audience reaction, seemed to have set up the SmoothBoiz on course to clinch Glo�s $150,000 and the Sony Music recording contract which goes with it. But the two other judges thought completely differently. Judges M.I and Rockstone voted to keep �Symphony� from Ghana in the show at the expense of the SmoothBoiz. The SmoothBoiz thus made history on Friday night by becoming the first to go through the exit gates of the first-ever X factor show in Africa by bowing to the dazzling performance of Ghana�s Symphony. The next eviction is scheduled for this weekend. Viewers can watch the Eviction shows on Saturdays on Viasat at 4pm and GHone at 6pm. Viewers can vote for their favourite contestant by sending the contestant�s voting number via SMS to �33680� from Nigeria and to �1732� from Ghana,� The contestants� voting numbers are Eshum �501�, Ankara Boi �502�, Vicky �503�, DJ Switch �504�, Pheel �505� and Princess Pat �506�. Others are the DNA Twins �507� and Symphony �508� . Members of the public stand a chance of winning Glo Bolt internet modems, Samsung Galaxy tabs, Blackberry phones and Glo recharge cards as they vote for their favourite contestants in the show Globacom said.
