Al Ain striker, Asamoah Gyan played �Captain Marvel� to give Ghana a dramatic comeback against Turkey in Istanbul last Wednesday night, inspiring Coach Kwasi Appiah to boldly declare the Black Stars� readiness for the Chipolopolo of Zambia in a World Cup decider in Kumasi on September 6. The unassuming Stars trainer insisted that the outcome of the Turkey match would still not provide any clues for the former African champions ahead of the Kumasi clash, as substitute Gyan again proved how influential he could be for Ghana with two second half strikes to cancel a 2-0 first half deficit in that high-profile international friendly. Though he would not give any hint of his squad for the Zambia cracker, Coach Appiah gave a strong indication in a post-match interview that he already had in mind his starting line-up for the Zambia game which would be quite different from the team which paraded against Turkey. Kwasi Appiah maintained that he was not going to measure Ghana�s chances against Zambia by the result against Turkey, since he usually uses such friendlies to see how best new players could fit into his set-up. Last Wednesday, Coach Appiah started first choice Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah from the bench, while giving in-form striker Mahatma Otoo and Guadalajara goalkeeper, Razak Brimah, their dream debut in the second half. Otoo, who recently signed for Norwegian side Sogndal, was given half an hour to justify himself, just as Brimah replaced Adam Kwarasey who conceded both goals in the seventh and 28th minutes. Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, who is reported to be recuperating from an ankle injury, also joined the Stars� recovery agenda after recess in a fitting test which saw Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu carrying the Ghanaian side on his tiny shoulders until the introduction of Gyan.
