A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communication Team, Brogya Gyamfi has labeled Lead Counsel for the five convicted NPP youth, who were sentenced (one to die by hanging and four others to spend 36 years each in prison) by a Tamale High Court, Lawyer Obiri Boahene as a �Bad Loser�. According to him, it�s unethical for a practicing lawyer to argue that a judgement made by a High court was politically motivated and travesty of justice. �I am suggesting it to Nana Obiri Boahene that he is a bad loser, he is a bad loser. His utterances after the sentenced imposed on the NPP youth are really bad. This is not the first time Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahene is pursuing a case concerning the Andanis and the Abudus. He has been a lawyer for the Abudus for a very long time. �..Even the Yaa Naa�s case, he was the lawyer defending the Abudus. Even when the case was ruled in his favour, did anyone heard him (lawyer Obiri Boahene) making such utterances as he is doing now?� he said. The NDC communicator was reacting to Lawyer Obiri�s claims that there was political manipulation in the final judgment of the case since some members of the jury are known NDC sympathizers. The Sunyani-based lawyer, in an interview with Peacefmonline, also pointed out that the evidence adduced in court by the prosecutors was in sharp contrast to the ruling. ��Some (victims) said they were shot but no medical doctor testified during the trial�no medical record was presented in court to buttress claims or assertions by alleged victims of the incident�� Obiri Boahene said. But speaking on Adom FM, Brogya Gyamfi, asserted that Counsel�s utterances are likely to inflame passions in the Northern Region ahead of the final verdict of the Supreme Court on the Election Petition suit since the case �does not concern the Abudus and the Andanis�. �The attempt to rally support for the people and playing the tribal card is very bad. If he is a good lawyer, then he should appeal as he is saying and put all his allegations before the judges rather than the baseless accusations,� he stated.
