Sulley Muntari Apologises To GFA

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has okayed an apology rendered by midfielder Sulley Muntari over his recent misconduct towards officials of the Black Stars. The AC Milan midfielder is alleged to have exhibited gross disrespect towards Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah during the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Maseru last June. The player was said to be unhappy over his substitution in the course of the game. Earlier, Muntari in his letter of apology said I write this letter to render my sincere apologies to the Management, Technical Team and the entire players of the Black Stars for my actions after the Lesotho/Ghana match which was played in Maseru on Sunday, 17th June 2013. I wish to state that this unfortunate incident will not happen again, he noted. The acceptance letter from the GFA signed by Emmanuel Gyimah, General Secretary read On behalf of the Ghana Football Association, the technical and the management team of the Black Stars, your most sincere apology is accepted. It is our hope that we will work together with harmony to ensure the continuous progress of our beloved national team of Ghana, the Black Stars. It is however not known if Muntari will be handed a call up for next months ultimate qualifier against Zambia in Kumasi.
