Mfantsiman NPP Throws Out Asamoah-Boateng...Declared a Traitor and Shown Him His Fathers Hometown

All is not well in the Mfantsiman West Constituency of the Central Region, as a youth group in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency has turned their guns on Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, calling him a traitor, a cheat and an obstacle to the development and growth of the NPP in the Constituency. According to the group, the success of the party in the Central Region, has been hijacked by the misconduct of Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, otherwise known as Asabee, who they revealed originally comes from Konogo in the Ashanti Region. The group, Concerned New Patriotic Party (NPP) Group, led by Lisbon Shakadey, made this comments in a press statement made available to The Herald last week. According to him, the acrimonies in the Constituency, started just after the University of Ghana-Legon Presidential primaries in 2007. Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, onetime Minister of Information and Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantsiman West, disregarded the Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Jibril, Ike Anu, Organizer, Fred Okine, Youth Organiser and others for no apparent reason. He ended up doing his things his own way, hence his two successive defeats to Aquinas Quansah of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The ex-Minister formed his camping team, without these important personalities in the party. He disgraces the Chairman and others in public and never showed them respect, Mr. Lisbon Shakadey said. He further stated that the irresponsible behavior of Asabee, brought a huge crack in the Constituency, no wonder he lost disgracefully in both the 2008 and 2012 general elections. He admitted that party members thought Asabee had learnt some lessons after the 2008 general election, but he misconducted himself again during the 2012 campaign, by throwing open insults at the Constituency Chairman, his Vice, Organizer, Youth Organizer and many others, who were indirectly kept away from the so-called Asabee campaign team, because he (Asabee) saw them to belong to the Akufo-Addo faction. Lisbon Shakadey, revealed that the ex-Minister held several meetings without these important Constituency party figures in attendance in the run-up to the 2012 elections. He accused Asabee of going berserk and attacking the Constituency Chairman and others of bribery, without any reasonable evidence. He also claimed that Asabee under-paid polling station agents, who were recruited for the 2012 general elections. The group threatened to seek redress in court if Asabee fails to explain to them how the campaign funds were disbursed. They appealed to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, to call Asabee to order and further advised him to try his luck at his fathers hometownKonogo in the Asante Akyem South Constituency of the Ashanti Region.
