I'm Not Comfortable With Power-Sharing Arrangements

The idea of power sharing or a unity government isnt a comfortable way to go Mr. Kweku Baako has advised. The managing editor for the New Crusading Guide insists such an arrangement is contrary to what the laws of our constitution assign politicians to follow. Mr. Baakos comments were based on an earlier suggestion by stalwarts of the NDC that power sharing or an all inclusive government was the way forward for the nation after the final verdict has been delivered by the Supreme Court. Dr. Kwabena Adjei, the NDCs chairman was first to make the suggestion which was later followed by an endorsement from Hon. Fifi Kwetey. But speaking on Joy FMs political talk show, News File, a bemused Baako thwarted the notion and maintained that if a clear line is drawn between an all-inclusive government and power sharing, one would realize that nothing of that sort is in the 1992 constitution. He opined that if it happened to be wish of the president to bring in colleagues from other political parties or social group, then no one could scold him for that bold step. But if such step is not in the wish list of the number one gentleman, then it is totally absurd for politicians to mount pressure on him, Mr. Baako urged. He candidly stated that I am not too comfortable with union government or power sharing arrangements, and called for an immediate scrap of the proposal.
