Anyone Linked To The Sammy Awuku Tape Would Be Summoned For Investigation If Police

Director of the Ghana Police Service Public Affairs, DSP Cephas Arthur has said that, investigations are underway on a tape handed over to the police by government allegedly containing voice of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Deputy Communication Director, Sammy Awuku. According to him, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) handling the tape will undergo a process to divulge the authenticity of the voice whether it is that of Mr. Awuku or not. Speaking to Asempa FM, DSP Cephas Arthur indicated that, the police will not hesitate to call upon any individual linked to the tape for investigations. We have the tape in our possession and all processes needed are underway. Whatever is needed to do, we are going to do it. If it necessary to call on anyone concerned to this tape, we will call the person. Not the alleged person alone but anyone linked to the tape or anyone who can help in investigation, we will call the person, he assured. Sammy Awuku has been revealed in a leaked tape that attacks the nine-member panel of judges of the Supreme Court hearing the 2012 presidential election petition case. The outspoken NPP communicator allegedly at a meeting in the UK is captured on tape to have said that aside from the president of the panel, Justice William Atuguba, the eight other members are fervently behind the NPP hence he expects the verdict to be an 8-1 outcome. The yet to be known voice also disclosed that some members of the panel of judges may not live to see August 29 which is the judgement day. However, Sammy Awuku has vehemently denied being the person captured on the tape and threatening to sue some media houses for airing the voice to tarnish his reputation.
