Baba Jamal Tells Sammy Awukus Counsel: BNI Investigated My Alleged Tape

Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia Constituency and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Hon. Baba Jamal, has retorted to a recent call by Lawyer Mike Oquaye Jr. counsel for Sammy Awuku that his alleged leaked tape must be investigated before Sammy Awukus as government demand. According Baba Jamal who claims the abrupt appearance of his alleged tape tarnished his reputation, expressed shocked to have heard Lawyer Mike Quaye Jr. requesting for an exhaustive investigation in his tape. Baba Jamal was reacting to Lawyer Mike Oquaye Jrs. call that government must first delve deeper into the issue concerning Baba Jamals tape before investigating an alleged fabricated audio purported to be Sammy Awukus voice. Baba Jamal battled accusations leveled by the opposition NPP that he (Baba Jamal) promised journalists in the Upper East region of a GHC 160 monthly stipend, routed through their enrolment into the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), if they publish stories that brighten the chances of the NDC government. But speaking on Asempa FM, the NDC MP confirmed that the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) interrogated him after he was accused. I was desolated by the allegation levied on me that I was the one captured on the tape. Something I knew nothing about. There was no truth in the tape. I was not the one captured on the tape. I heard my brother Lawyer Mike Oquaye Jr. on radio saying my tape was not investigated. My tape was given to the BNI to investigate. They (BNI) came to my office and recorded my voice to know the authenticity of the voice on the tape and my real voice. Later I was informed that wasnt my voice on the tape. If he (Mike Oquaye Jr.) doesnt know about this, I am telling him now, my case even went to the BNI, he lamented.
