Nana Addo Is Akin To Greek Philosopher Socrates

Ken Kuranchie, the Managing Editor of the daily Searchlight Newspaper has likened the actions and utterances of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the first petitioner in the just ended election petition trial to that of the Greek philosopher, Socrates. According to the ace Journalist, what he (Nana Addo) did was actually Socratic. You know that when Socrates was condemned to death by a court, he said that he disagreed vehemently with the decision. But because all his life he had lived for lawfulness; if the law says that he should die, then he would die. And that is exactly what Nana Akufo Addo said. We believe in the rule of law. If the law says that this is the consequence, you live with the consequences even though everything in your bones tell you that what you have been meted out by the law is an injustice, he argued on Citi Fm. Ken Kuranchie drew this comparison in responds to critics of the 2012 flagbearer of New Patriotic Party (NPP), who earlier indicated his believe in the courts but later stated his disagreement with the decision of the apex court of Ghana with regards to the ruling challenging the validity of last years polls.
