Gospel Musician Ernest Opoku Settles His Gh1000 Debt

Popular Kumasi based gospel musician Ernest Opoku has done the honourable thing by paying the debt he owed sound engineer Roland Ackah aka Roro of Roca House of Music and his church Apostolic Faith Mission headed by Apostle De-Graft Osei Kwame. Readers can recall that Flex newspaper published a story in their 13th August edition of the paper with the headline Police to arrest Ernest Opoku where it was made public that Ernest Opoku had taken an amount of Ghc.1,500 from Roro and the Apostolic Faith Church for an all night song ministration but Ernest Opoku failed to honour his promise of showing up for the singing session. Before the day of the concert, Ernest Opoku and his cohorts had succeeded in concocting some cock and bull stories including a motor accident that never happened in Nkawkaw which according to them facilitated the admission of Ernest Opoku`s at the Holy Family hospital at Nkawkaw Adoagyiri. Later, the organizers got to know based on a tip off from another Kumasi based sound engineer that Ernest had actually traveled to Italy for another concert which is better than the one in Ghana. The issue became rampant in the media and Ernest Opoku`s name was painted black on many entertainment review platforms on radio, television, internet websites and in the newspapers. Sensing danger of being arrested upon arrival at the Kotoko International Airport, Ernest and his people have now done the proper thing by paying the Ghc. 1000 which was not refunded to the organizers of the musical session at the watch night service. Being part of the media houses which championed that cause of spreading the story in our media platforms, Flex newspaper pulled a check call through Roro`s phone to get the latest updates on the story and he told us that the money has been paid to the church by Ernest Opoku`s team. If you remember the guy from Tema who answered the call that Ernest was involved in an accident, the same guy called with some pastors and they apologized for the mess. I am hearing that Ernest is in Ghana but he has not called me yet. They settled with the church because I only negotiated on behalf of the church. It was the church he was dealing with so as much as he has paid them their money, I am okay Roro Buddy told Flex newspaper last Monday. Meanwhile, some Flex newspaper reporters have seen Ernest Opoku in Accra moving about normal and doing his own thing.
