Effutu MCE commends NHIS workers

Mr Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has commended national and local implementers of the National Health Insurance Policy for contributing towards the countrys health delivery system and the development drive. Mr Nii Ephraim made the commendation when he interacted with newsmen on the 10th anniversary celebrations of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Winneba. He said notwithstanding the initial challenges that confronted the system, the policy has systematically progressed almost in every corner of the country within the past 10 years. The MCE noted that in spite of the challenges workers of the scheme at the national and regional levels are doing all they could to sustain and improve the system. He, however, cautioned employees of the scheme, especially those at management positions to strive to guard against all forms of financial malpractices to enable them to move the NHIS forward. Mr Nii Ephraim said Ghanaians should cultivate the habit of contributing financially towards the execution of all vital national policies such as the NHIS. He said gone were the days when Ghanaians thought they could leave everything in the hands of government to do for them. He lauded the scheme workers in the Effutu and Awutu/Senya administrative areas for their appreciable performance which has made the scheme one of the best in the country and urged them to sustain the tempo.
