Philemon McCarthy Delighted With Hearts Return

Philemon McCarthy admits it is a special feeling to return to action for Hearts of Oak after replacing Tetteh Luggard in their 2-1 win over Hasaacas on Wednesday. The former Feyenoord shot-stopper missed the whole of the second round of the 2012/13 season due to injury with his last outing for the Club coming in the 1-1 draw away at King Faisal on the final day of the first round of last season. After missing 19 league games, McCarthy says he feels good to be back in action. "It is always special to be in that sticks," McCarthy said. "It is my job and what I do for a living. It feels so good to be back in the post after being out for that long. "I really missed playing. I think I have missed the fans and they have also missed me. I am a team player and I am happy to be back in the team." "I really appreciate the support the fans gave me through my injury, and even now that I am back, I will love to work hard to make them happy." Philemon McCarthy was brought on from the bench in the second half for Tetteh Luggard who was psychologically down. However, McCarthy believes Hearts of Oak lifted their game in the second half and has thanked the fans for the support they rendered him against Hasaacas. "We lifted our game in the second half," McCarthy said. "We were not pressing late in the first half because we were a bit relaxed. We always give off our best when we are on the field and we started to do the pressing in the second half. I think that helped us to keep Hasaacas in check.
