GFA Boss: Playing Egypt Will Let Us See The Best Out of Our Team

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has said playing Egypt in the play-off of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier will be a test match should Ghana qualifies to Brazil. According to him, the seriousness attached to the Egypt game shows how more determined Ghana is to qualify to the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He is of a view that, if Ghana is to play a less tough opponent like Ethiopia or Burkina Faso, under-reckoning would have induced the team negatively. Adding that, Egypt is not a walk away team. If we were not to play Egypt, Ghanaians would have complained that, our opponent is not strong enough. There will not be any seriousness attached to the match so its good we are playing Egypt. Playing Egypt will let us know the best out of our team. Ghanaians should be calm and pray for the Black Stars for victory and I hope by the grace of God, we will win this game, he told PEACE FMs PEACE POWER SPORTS. However the GFA Boss expressed disappointment on how Ghanaians are treating the recall of Richard Kingson. Ghanaians are not been fair to Olele (Richard Kingson). His age is not what people are saying. Some players are even older than him yet still playing. Olele is not above 40 years, he is doing well and the first goalkeeper in his club. We should stop saying negative things about our players and encourage them rather. Ghana will host Egypt in the first leg on October 15 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi with the return leg in Cairo on November 19. The aggregate winner qualifies for next years FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
