NDC Group Wants MCE Sacked

A group of supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Offinso Municipality are calling for the removal from office of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Baffuor Kesse-Amankwaah for what they say is his abysmal performance. The party members accused him of incompetence and poor leadership. Mr Ibrahim Yakubu, their Spokesperson, said they had nothing personal against the MCE but that they simply could not become indifferent and allow him to mess up things to collapse the party. He warned that his continued stay would not be helpful to the political fortunes of the NDC in the area. Majority of the population, including our party members, chiefs and opinion leaders, are all unhappy with the way things are going and eager to see him, replaced, he said. The call tends to add up pressure on the MCE already facing a rebellion by some assembly members, who have vowed to pass a no-confidence vote in him if not sacked by the President. Mr Kesse-Amankwaa, however, denied the accusation of non-performance and asked that it should be ignored. These are deliberate lies being thrown out by few assembly members, he said, adding that, he would not be distracted but continue to work hard to bring progress to the people.
