Sunday service at the Royal House Chapel (Ahenfie) is usually a special affair for worshippers and after a week of the �Convention of Saints�, the congregation were expectant of the outpouring of God�s special favour. And what a surprise they had! Miss World Africa, Caranzar Naa Okailey Shooter and her successor as Miss Ghana, Guiseppina Akua Baafi, were present to worship with them yesterday. The two beauty queens, had gone to church as they usually did on Sundays, before assuming their new roles. Together with their families, the two beauty queens, had gone to Ahenfie to thank God for his grace and the special blessings, For Miss World Africa, who was attending church for the first time since returning from the Miss World Pageant, her desire to join the service as she normally did with her family turned into a surprise celebration as both the clergy and congregation would not allow her to have that quiet moment, celebrating her in a special way. Her family as well as close friends including the past President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and the Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Ransford T. Tetteh and the current president, Mr Roland Affail Monney joined the congregation in prolonged praise and worship session, especially from the youth groups. The Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel, Rev. Sam Korankye-Ankrah, thanked God for the honour the two queens had brought to the church and the country. He prayed that Miss Baafi, especially, would emulate the example set by Miss Shooter at the next Miss World pageant. Miss Shooter said God was the secret of her successes, �since I came back I have been having lot of interviews. Every time I�m asked what�s the secret to my success at the Miss World Pageant, all I say is it�s by God�s grace,� she said. �I always pray that the will of God will manifest in my life in whatever way, and I�m convinced that this feat is really one of His wills for me.� She thanked Rev. Korankye-Ankrah and his wife, Rev. Mrs Rita Korankye-Ankrah for the support they gave her. �I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to daddy, thank you so much for your prayers and your counselling. I remember I went through a lot of challenges and you prayed for me. Thank you Mama Rita too for your support,� she said. The Editor of the Daily Graphic thanked the church for its collaboration with the Graphic Communications Group Limited over the years. He said although he had earlier questioned the decision of Ms Shooter to contest the Miss Ghana competition since she was a medical student who needed to concentrate on her studies, �in the presence of God this morning, I eat back my words�. �I think Ms Shooter has made Ghana proud and I think we should all continue to celebrate her,� he said. For her part, Ms Baafi thanked the congregation for its support and paid tribute to Naa Shooter for making Ghana proud. She called on the church to support her in prayers as she prepares for the Miss World contest next year. �I am hoping that you will all support me with prayers because I want to make Ghana proud again,� she said. In a sermon, Mrs Korankye-Ankrah who preached on the theme: �Yahweh�, assured the congregation that God would complete what He had started in their lives. All they had to do, she said, was to be steafast in the House of the Lord. The service was also used to celebrate the success of the church�s week-long annual programme, Convention of Saints, which ended last Sunday.
