Egypt dares Ghana in play-off

Ghana's Black Stars, the most successful African side in the FIFA World Cup fiesta in recent times have a herculean task to overcome in their bid to gain a third straight qualification to the championship in Brazil, next year. The Stars take on seven times African champions, the Pharoahs of Egypt in the first leg of a play-off slated for the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday, October 15. The Egyptians, having missed out for over two decades now are not hiding their intentions to topple the Stars, promising to use their vast experience in the game to their advantage. Since 1959, matches involving the two countries, be it club or the national teams has been uncompromising and whoever carries the day does so with a slim margin. "We have no choice than to ensure a good scoreline in Kumasi and in the second leg", Egypt's dangerman, Mohammed Aboutreika, told the GNA Sports in Kumasi. The Pharoahs, he said had studied the Stars thoroughly and would take advantage of their weaknesses.
