Fight Against Corruption: Government To Set Up Complaint Centers

Government is setting up a Public Complaints Centers as part of ways of fighting corruption in the country. The Center will be receiving complaints from the general public about any form of corruption they have seen or identified within the public sector. Speaking to Muslims gathered at the Independence Square to celebrate this year�s Eid-ul Adha, President Mahama said the Center will be functional in 2014 and added that when any corrupt act is reported, investigations will be carried out and those found culpable will be dealt with. The Public Complaints Centers will also receive complaints from the public about poor service delivery in any public sector. President Mahama assured that the identity of anyone who will play the role of a �whistle blower� will be hidden and �so nobody should hold back any information.� �We will set out Public Complaint Centers next year; they will receive complaint from the public about poor service delivery in the public centers. In addition, any member of the public who has any information bordering on corruption can also report at the center. Their identity will be safeguarded and if it needs investigations it will be carried out and if there is some truth, whoever is responsible will be prosecuted� he indicated.
