The New Patriotic Party has said it does not recognise guidelines issued by certain constituency and regional officers for the forthcoming internal elections. According to the party, it had come to its notice that certain constituency and regional officers of the party had issued their own guidelines for the elections. A statement signed by Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, General Secretary of the party said, �We are asking all party officers to suspend such actions in order not to jeopardise a very peaceful exercise that the party intends to undertake.� The statement assured all party officials and followers that comprehensive guidelines that would govern the internal elections from the polling stations to the national executive elections were being prepared and would be released to regional/constituencies offices by today. Meanwhile, the party has urged all interested parties to remain calm as the national headquarters worked on ensuring a peaceful, credible and clean internal elections.
