Konadu eyes WAFU trophy

Maxwell Konadu, head coach of the local Black Stars has set his sight on the Go TV West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup competition to be hosted by Ghana from November 21-18, at the Accra Sports Stadium. Konadu says his side will go into the competition with a positive mentality aimed at the trophy. He said Though we are not going to underrate our opponents in the group, we will ensure hard work and determination so that success will be ours at the end of the day." The coach said his team will seek to revive the host and win mentality but admitted that it will come at a cost - hard work. He said the tourney also provides his side an opportunity to make amends after failing in the last edition held in Nigeria. Konadu admitted there will be pressure on the local Black Stars taking into consideration they will be playing at home as well as the recent thrashing of Egypt in the 2014 World Cup qualifier.
