Who Are You, Nunoo-Mensah?Even The Prez Can't Order Any Ghanaian To Get Out Of This Country

Immediate former Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea finds it appalling that a National Security Adviser could go to the extent of demeaning the integrity of Ghanaian workers when even the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has admitted there is unbridled hardship in the country. Brigadier-General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah (rtd) last Saturday hit hard at organised labour for their interminable strikes and asked them to get out of the country if the kitchen is too hot for them. He wondered why public sector workers are not sacrificing for the interest of the country, but always threatening government with strikes. Nana Akomea who was reacting to the issue on Asempa FM sought to find out from Mr. Nunoo-Mensah on whose authority he issued the order to workers to leave the country if they cannot stand the hotness in the kitchen or sacrifice for the nation. If you are working for the government, the government is supposed to pay you. If salaries received are not enough as workers are complaining now, you can only tell them to leave the work if they cannot do it. But do you openly tell a Ghanaian to get out of this country? Who are you (Nunoo Mensah)who are you? Even the President cannot under any circumstance tell a Ghanaian to leave this country. The President cannot do thathow? What kind of government are we in? Telling Ghanaians if they cannot work, they should pick up their passports and leave the country. Where is he (Nunoo Mensah) expecting them (workers) to go?to be refugees in Togo or where? He asked. He pointed out strongly that strikes are legal according to the Ghanas constitution. Workers have the right to go on strike since it is not against the law.
