For How Long Will NDC Blame NPP For Their Problems And Incompetence?

Atik Mohammed, a policy analyst of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) has asked Ghanaians to punish the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) over comments made by its National Security Advisor, Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah (rtd). Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah (rtd) has been at the centre of controversy after he asked striking workers who cannot sacrifice to get out of the country. The National Security Advisor attributed the many strikes on the labour front to high levels of indiscipline and strongly asked striking workers unwilling to sacrifice for the nation to take their passports and get out of this country, and dont destroy the country for us. If you cant sacrifice like what some of us have done, then get out. If the Kitchen is too hot for you, get out. But the PNCs Policy Analyst, speaking to the issue on PeaceFMs Kokrokoo Morning Show, said the electorate should penalize the former army commander for his remarks by voting against the ruling NDC administration in the next general elections in 2016. I am not sure if he has not been paid for six months; he will go on preaching sacrificeNunoo-Mensah must be the reason why NDC should be punished in 2016; even though there are many reasons, he stated. According to him, what the national security advisor said was the height of insults and it tells you the quality of advice he gives to the president Even though government has dissociated itself from the comments, Atik Mohammed strongly believes he (Nunoo-Mensah) was virtually speaking the mind of President John Dramani Mahama. He made those comments in the presence of the President. So one can say they had a prior discussion about the issue before it was brought forth. He is encouraging brain drain because some of these aggrieved workers can decide to go out of the country. What business do we have maintaining this man as the advisor of the country (on security affairs)? It is an expression and an indication of the current government in power, he said. Trojan horse However, take your passports and get out of this country were not the only debatable comments passed by the outspoken retired military officer. In the midst of the backlash and strong calls for his resignation, the National Security Advisor, perhaps in a proverbial adding salt to injury scenario, accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of instigating workers against the current administration and using the workers as Trojan horses to take power through the backdoor. Quite bemused by the NDCs posture, Atik Mohammed wondered why the NDC keeps blaming the main opposition party for anything that goes wrong in its administration. to make it murkier, he accused the NPP of being behind the agitation as if the workers dont have a mind of their own. For how long will NPP be responsible for all the problems in the NDC? We voted for them to bring change and if they cannot do it, they should give chance to another group of people, he stated.
