Manhyia North MP Under Fire

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Collins Owusu Amankwaa is alleged to have been using aggressive and militant mechanism to administer the affairs of the constituency. In a release signed by a concerned member of the Manhyia constituency, Wiafe Afriyie Benjamin, the MP has succeeded in removing from office the current constituency executives. He is also alleged to have used macho men to frustrate some key electoral area coordinators. According to Mr. Wiafe, he has made countless number of moves to draw the attention of both the Regional and National executives to nib in the bud, the growing level of animosity and anarchy in the constituency, but he has not succeeded. The constituency leadership has also written numerous letters to the regional and national offices to drum home the need to call the MP to order, but there has not been any an intervention or proper solution to the grievances. After the party�s primaries in 2012, the MP has had no good relationship with the old polling station members, chairmen, coordinators and constituency executives. He is alleged to have sidelined the polling station executives who are mandated by the party constitution under Article 5 clause 2I � IV to perform party work and recruited new people from different areas outside the constituency to work. As at the time going to the press several attempts were made to reach him on phone, but all proved futile.
