Hearts Slapped With Temporary Home Ban For Crowd Violence

Hearts of Oak have been handed a temporary ban from using the Accra Sports Stadium as their home ground for Ghana Premier League matches. The Premier League Board wielded the axe on Monday following the misbehaviour of Hearts during their last home match against King Faisal. Exasperated followers of the club invaded the pitch after the final whistle and attempted to attack referee Otis Oppong following the 1-1 draw with King Faisal. The Premier League Board has ordered the temporary closure of the Accra Stadium to Hearts of Oak for their home game on Wednesday. A statement read: The Premier League Board informs you that following the misbehaviour of your fans in your Match Day 10 League assignment between your club and King Faisal FC, and the Executive Committees directive as contained in their letter No. GFA/PLC/HQ/VOL. 162, your Match-Day-12 against Medeama SC on Wednesday, 13th November, 2013 has been rescheduled for the Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast. Hearts of Oak are second on the league table; one point behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
