Michael Essien Dismisses Rift With Chelsea Boss Mourinho

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has dismissed claims he has fallen out with manager Jose Mourinho following his lack of regular first team action at Chelsea. The 30-year-old is yet to play a single Premier League game for the Blues this season. Essien who used to enjoy regular first team action at Stamford Bridge has fallen down the perking with Mourinho giving more opportunities to younger players. The former Olympique Lyon man has always impressed when playing for Chelsea in less significant cup games. He has also impressed since returning to international football with the Black Stars. Essien yet still remains an insignificant piece in Jose Mourinhos plans sparking perceptions their father and son relationship has gone sour. But the Ghana international has dismissed these believes while maintaining he is not overly worried by his apparent lack of first team action at Chelsea. I have absolutely no issues with Mourinho, he told Accra-based Asempa FM. People like to talk a lot and most of what they say are not true. I have been in football for some time now so I am not really bothered by the lacking first team action at Chelsea. Essien is expected to join the Black Stars camp in Turkey on Tuesday night to complete preparations towards the second-leg World Cup playoff against Egypt on November 19.
